Factors like local environmental conditions, building materials, pet dander, and everyday activities can introduce a range of pollutants into your living spaces, often unseen and undetected. Our dedicated service is designed to give you peace of mind, pinpointing potential issues before they become serious health concerns or negatively affect your home's integrity. With our expertise, you can take informed steps towards a healthier living space for you and your family in Johnstown.

Why Prioritize Household Air Quality in Your Johnstown Home?

Indoor air can sometimes be more polluted than outdoor air, a startling fact given how much time we spend indoors. Poor air quality can lead to a myriad of health problems, ranging from minor irritations to severe chronic conditions. In Johnstown, where varying seasons can lead to closed windows for extended periods, effective ventilation and air filtration become crucial. Identifying and mitigating airborne contaminants can alleviate symptoms like:

  • Allergies and asthma flare-ups
  • Respiratory issues and persistent coughs
  • Headaches and fatigue
  • Skin and eye irritation
  • Long-term health risks from chronic exposure to certain pollutants

Beyond health, good air quality protects your home. Moisture issues, for example, can lead to mold growth, causing structural damage and unpleasant odors. Our comprehensive testing helps you proactively address these concerns.

What Does HALO Heating and Air Test For? A Detailed Look at Common Indoor Pollutants

Our Household Air Quality Testing service in Johnstown, CO, is designed to detect a broad spectrum of contaminants that commonly infiltrate homes. Understanding what we look for helps you appreciate the depth of our assessment:

  • Mold Spores: One of the most common and concerning indoor pollutants, mold thrives in damp, humid environments. It can grow on walls, ceilings, carpets, and within HVAC systems. Exposure to mold spores can trigger allergic reactions, asthma attacks, and other respiratory problems. Our testing identifies the presence and concentration of various mold types.
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): These are gases emitted from certain solids or liquids. Common sources include paints, varnishes, cleaning supplies, air fresheners, building materials, and furnishings. Short-term exposure can cause headaches, nausea, and irritation, while long-term exposure can have more serious health implications.
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO): An odorless, colorless, and highly toxic gas, carbon monoxide is often called the "silent killer." It's produced by incomplete combustion in furnaces, water heaters, gas stoves, and fireplaces. Our testing ensures that your home is safe from dangerous CO levels.
  • Radon: A naturally occurring radioactive gas, radon is formed from the breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water. It can seep into homes through cracks in foundations or other openings. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Our precise testing identifies dangerous radon concentrations.
  • Particulate Matter: This includes microscopic solid or liquid particles suspended in the air, such as dust, pollen, pet dander, dirt, soot, and smoke. These particles can penetrate deep into the lungs and even the bloodstream, exacerbating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Allergens: Beyond mold and pet dander, other allergens like dust mites and pollen from outdoor sources can accumulate indoors. Our testing helps identify the presence and levels of these common triggers.

By meticulously testing for these and other potential pollutants, we provide a complete picture of your home's air quality.

Our Comprehensive Air Quality Testing Process

At HALO Heating and Air, we believe in a clear, thorough, and non-intrusive testing process to deliver accurate results for your Johnstown home. Here's what you can expect when you choose us for your Household Air Quality Testing:

  • Initial Consultation: We begin by discussing your concerns, any symptoms you or your family might be experiencing, and details about your home's history and potential problem areas. This helps us tailor our testing approach.
  • On-Site Assessment and Sample Collection: Our certified technicians visit your Johnstown home equipped with advanced air sampling equipment. We strategically place air collection devices in various key areas to capture representative samples. This may involve using specialized pumps to draw air through collection media or deploying monitors for continuous data logging, depending on the specific pollutants being tested for. We ensure minimal disruption to your daily routine.
  • Laboratory Analysis: Collected samples are then sent to an independent, accredited laboratory for in-depth analysis. This ensures unbiased and highly accurate results for each pollutant category.
  • Detailed Report and Recommendations: Once lab results are available, we compile a comprehensive report detailing our findings. This report clearly outlines any pollutants detected, their concentrations, and how these levels compare to recommended guidelines. Crucially, we then provide actionable recommendations for improving your home's air quality, which may include suggestions for ventilation upgrades, air purification systems, moisture control, or other targeted solutions.

Our commitment extends beyond just identifying problems; we aim to equip you with the knowledge and solutions to achieve lasting improvements in your indoor environment.

I called Halo when my water heater started leaking from the bottom. They responded quickly and reviewed my options for a new water heater. Steve was able to locate the particular water heater I wanted and had the old one removed and the new one Installed that day. I can't thank them enough for the prompt service. I highly recommend Halo and will use them again if the need arises. They were very courteous and professional.

Steve, the HALO technician, was great. He did a quick view of our furnace and could see it was malfunctioning. He was very transparent, showing me his initial findings, explaining how the furnace should work and trying a step to correct the problem. When that didn't work, he inspected the wiring more closely and found a crimped wire leading into the burner assembly. He replaced the wire and the furnace resumed normal operation. Thanks much, Steve!

I’m am so impressed with the quality and depth of service that I received. The details about what was being done and how the system works were so helpful to me and the most valuable as I know how to help diagnose my own system.
They tested everything and were able to diagnose my problems and get them fixed. This was after two other companies had tried to do this and failed
I would recommend them again to everyone who wanted expertise and high level skills and knowledge who will get the problem resolved.

Steve and Chernet literally saved our kennel dogs and puppies by repairing a heating system that was not designed to function in negative temperatures. They came up with a plan to keep the temperatures warm and monitored them throughout the night!! They did that! And did it all for an extremely fair price. We have had several other HVAC companies come to our business to“fix” our system. Nobody had ever been honest with us, and kept charging more and more each visit leaving us with a system that really was not designed to work properly. We will never use another HVAC company again. Halo has our business for life!!
